Job Summary
Locate patients, obtain vital signs, and triage individuals while assessing medical conditions and preparing them for treatment. Order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed, perform phlebotomy, and sterilize instruments. Notify physicians and nurses regarding patient readiness, relay lab or imaging needs, and assist with various forms of patient treatment and care. Handle requests respectfully, maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and laundry facilities, and operate medical equipment. Adhere to established policies, complete assigned checklists, and attend staff meetings. Report to the Charge Nurse at the end of the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum typing experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician's office preferred
- Medical candidates with at least 1-2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting are preferred
