Job Summary
Place patients in exam rooms, complete exam intakes including medical and social history reviews, and ensure accurate charting for the physician. Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician by taking and developing x-rays while assisting in the exam room as required. Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking exam rooms, disposing of trash, and cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms after each visit. Sterilize instruments daily and satisfy and document required MIPS quality measures. This role supports physicians in delivering complex lower extremity healthcare services at Upperline Health's Belvedere, Lutherville, or Padonia clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate and professional demeanor with each interaction
- Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work history
- Reliable transportation
- The ability to pass a background check
- The ability to pass a drug test
Desired Qualifications
- Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
- X-ray experience is a plus
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience working in an EMR – preferably athena EMR
