Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care and clinical/non-clinical support in a Family Medicine clinic, including completing patient intake steps and documenting in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Responsibilities span administrative and clinical duties, adherence to Nursing Policies, HIPAA/compliance, and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment. Requires a Medical Assistant Certificate, BLS, and Level One fingerprint clearance; position is in Tucson, AZ at El Rio Health with in-person scheduling, typical Monday-Friday hours. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred. The role supports El Rio Health’s mission to deliver affordable, quality healthcare and requires professionalism, data/documentation accuracy, and teamwork across clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
- A Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved and accredited educational institution
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment
