Job Summary
Medical Assistant in a part-time clinic role supporting the provider with examinations and treatments, patient history and triage, vital signs, injections, medications, basic eye/ear procedures, CLIA-waived lab testing, EKG and monitoring equipment, x-ray setup assistance, patient preparation and discharge, and related clerical duties including registration and documentation. The role requires weekdays with some weekends, adherence to patient confidentiality, and ability to adapt to changing duties as directed by the clinic provider.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- MA course completion certification (preferred)
- Current BLS certification (must obtain and maintain)
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
- Ability to read and write medical terminology
- Ability to work all shifts
- Detail-oriented with interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with patient confidentiality and HIPAA basics
- Experience with clerical duties and front office tasks (optional but beneficial)
- Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher (as needed)
- Ability to lift 15-20 pounds (physical requirement)
