Job Summary
Greet patients in the waiting area, ensure efficient patient flow, and escort patients to the discharge counter. Obtain patient histories by assessing, triaging, measuring vital signs, and recording information on charts. Explain treatment procedures, prepare exam rooms, and position instruments for providers. Administer injections, medications, and wound care under provider orders, while performing CLIA-waived lab tests and collecting specimens. Conduct diagnostic tests including eye exams, ECGs, and oxygen equipment usage. Complete medical charts, schedule follow-up appointments, and monitor inventory for supplies and pharmaceuticals. Perform quality checks on medical equipment and assist with registration duties. This safety-sensitive position requires BLS certification, two years of experience, and the ability to work all shifts in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
- Ability to work all shifts
- Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to see with corrective eyewear
- Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
- Able to handle emergency or crisis situations
- Will be required to wear protective equipment as necessary
- Ability to lift 15-20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistant
- MA course completion certification
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- PC skills or applicable computer experience
