Job Summary
Greet and register arriving patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, and prepare individuals for X-rays. Perform and document routine labs such as throat and urine cultures, irrigate wounds, and assist with quality control testing. Provide clinical support by applying splints, helping patients in distress during emergencies, and maintaining order in exam rooms and waiting areas. Follow policies and procedures while protecting patient confidentiality and ensuring adequate supply stocking.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records
