Job Summary
Medical Assistant II (Part-Time, 0.5 FTE) at Providence Kodiak Alaska Mental Health Center, on-site in Kodiak, AK. Works under a licensed practitioner to provide patient care; performs MA II duties with competency in clinical needs for the assigned clinic/location. Requires hands-on training and completion of an accredited program or apprenticeship, plus 6 months healthcare and 6 months MA experience, and BLS certification upon hire. Preferred certification: National Medical Assistant Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or
- Completed 2 years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
- Minimum 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 6 months of Healthcare experience
- 6 months of Medical Assistant experience
