Job Summary
Medical Assistant in pediatric urgent care provides clinical and administrative support under physician supervision. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, obtaining medical history and vital signs, preparing patients for X-rays, performing routine labs (e.g., throat and urine cultures with venipuncture experience), assisting with wound care, maintaining labs and exam rooms, following safety practices, safeguarding patient confidentiality, and delivering compassionate, multi-tasked support to patients, families, and the care team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior pediatric experience
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records preferred
