Job Summary
Medical Assistant (Part-time) in Fairfax, VA supporting pediatric urgent care under physician supervision. Responsible for clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations; greeting and registering patients; obtaining medical history and vital signs; preparing patients for X-rays; performing and documenting routine labs (including throat and urine cultures with venipuncture experience); wound irrigation and assistance; assisting in lab quality control; maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms and front desk; responding to emergencies and protecting patient confidentiality; following policies and procedures; and assisting with patient complaints and additional duties as needed. Requires pediatric-focused experience, strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with computers, and willingness to learn medical software. Compensation ranges up to $27/hour depending on experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records preferred
