Job Summary
Greet and register patients, obtain medical history and vital signs, and prepare individuals for X-rays. Perform and document routine labs including throat and urine cultures, irrigate wounds, and assist with quality control testing. Support the patient care team by responding to emergencies, maintaining exam room and waiting room cleanliness, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Assist with complaints and service recovery while protecting patient confidentiality. This role supports providers and office operations within a pediatric urgent care setting under physician supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records
