Job Summary
Greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories in the electronic record system. Perform phlebotomy, administer injections, and conduct EKGs per provider orders. Prepare exam rooms for procedures, manage patient flow to minimize wait times, and coordinate with front desk and staff. Answer phones, route inquiries, and complete DOT certification for urine drug and breath alcohol tests. Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment and follow all safety protocols during 10-hour shifts on Mondays and Wednesdays, including rotating weekends. Cover front desk duties as needed. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar clinical support role, preferably in an urgent care, emergency, or ambulatory care setting
- A current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA)
- CPR/BLS certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in blood draws (phlebotomy), including safe venipuncture technique and specimen handling
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering injections, including vaccines and medications, in accordance with provider orders and protocols
- Demonstrated ability to perform and obtain quality EKGs, including proper lead placement and basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Strong patient care skills, with the ability to interact compassionately and professionally with patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with medical records documentation (electronic or paper), with attention to accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality
- Professional phone etiquette and clear verbal communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and staff
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts (8:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) on Monday and Wednesday including one rotating weekend per month
- Will be required to cover front desk for part or all of a shift
- Knowledge of basic infection control practices and standard precautions in a clinical environment
Desired Qualifications
- Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests
