Job Summary
Medical Assistant role at Piedmont Urgent Care in Watkinsville, GA. Responsibilities include patient preparation, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in EMR, collecting lab specimens, administering medications and injections, starting IVs and placing catheters, performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures, supporting Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, pulmonary function testing), ensuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance, and handling administrative tasks. Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensed AEMT/Paramedic with 1+ years of related experience; proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures; EMR experience (EPIC preferred); and ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensed AEMT/Paramedic
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or AEMT (urgent care or ER a plus)
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
