Job Summary
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or AEMT at Piedmont Urgent Care in Watkinsville: Provide hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, triage and vital signs, obtaining patient history in the EMR, collecting routine lab specimens, administering medications and injections, starting IVs and placing catheters, performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures, supporting Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary function testing), ensuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance, handling administrative tasks, and traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensed AEMT/Paramedic, 1+ year of relevant experience, EMR proficiency (EPIC preferred), and ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensed AEMT/Paramedic
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or AEMT (urgent care or ER a plus)
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Team-oriented, patient-care focused
- Ability to travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required
