Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Piedmont Urgent Care providing hands-on patient care and supporting fast-paced clinic operations. Responsibilities include patient preparation, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in EMR (EPIC), collection of routine lab specimens, administration of medications and injections, starting IVs and placing catheters, performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures, supporting occupational medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary function testing) while maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Role requires travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed; full-time, 12-hour shifts (7AM–7PM) with weekends/holidays, and opportunities for certification reimbursement, professional development, and team-based care.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Experience: 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus); willing to train outstanding new graduates
- Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Technical Skills: Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Team Player: A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
