Job Summary
The Podiatric Medical Assistant provides procedural and administrative support to the physician, assists with procedures and patient education initiatives, and maintains patient records in the Electronic Health Record. Responsibilities include bringing patients to the exam room and preparing them for examinations; setting up exam rooms; verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming visit purpose; assisting physicians with procedures as needed; safeguarding patient information and medical records in accordance with HIPAA; upholding OSHA safety standards; keeping exam rooms stocked and clean; and maintaining general administrative duties with strong data-entry and computer skills. Qualifications emphasize completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, proficiency with data entry, multitasking, and knowledge of medical terminology. The role focuses on clinical support and patient-centric administrative tasks within a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or two years of similar experience preferred
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- General computer experience with data entry is required
- The ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
- Attention to detail
