Medical Assistant - Outpatient General Surgery - Full Time

Job Summary
Assists providers in patient care in an outpatient general surgery setting, including rooming patients, recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, performing point-of-care testing, venipuncture, administering medications and immunizations, processing specimens, handling prior authorizations, and managing clinical supplies. Maintains documentation according to regulatory standards (JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA) and supports administrative duties related to clinical encounters, diagnostic testing, and care coordination. Requires HS Diploma or GED with MA training/experience and appropriate certifications; healthcare experience in ambulatory care and CMA/RMA/CCMA credentials are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required and One of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program OR Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship OR 1 year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training (LNA, EMT, Combat Medic) OR 1 year prior experience as a Medical Assistant; MA II requires at least 3 years’ experience; Certification/Licensure: CMA, RMA or CCMA preferred; BLS authorization within 90 days of employment
