Job Summary
Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients; maintains recall system for lab tests, referrals and transfers; obtains vital signs; performs venipunctures; conducts audiometry and vision testing; and performs other assigned duties. Requires high school diploma or GED; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; and may require CMA or RMA licensure/experience. Vaccinations are required for associates and patients where applicable; participates in E-Verify. Location: Glendale, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: Preferred
- Successful completion of audiometry and vision testing or certificate from CHDP within six months of hire: Preferred
- Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
- Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients
- Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers
- Obtains vital signs
- Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician
- Performs venipunctures as ordered
- Performs audiometry and vision testing
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Vaccination requirements for associates and patients as a condition of employment (with exemptions where applicable)
