Job Summary
Medical Assistant (Orthopedics) assists physicians, PAs, or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow and procedures; prepares examination room and supplies, maintains efficient patient flow, collects vital signs, documents in EHR, reviews medication lists and allergies, enters orders in PMS/EHR, and provides referrals as needed. Responsibilities include scheduling, stock management, ensuring universal precautions, scribing, and facilitating transitions of care to UCC/Hospital. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program; 0–1 year of related experience (2–4 years preferred); BLS within 30 days of hire; strong English communication and computer skills; willingness to travel to satellite offices. Salary range: $22.02-$27.07 hourly (annualized to $45,802–$56,306). Equal employment opportunities statement included.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program
- 0-1 year related work experience
- 2-4 years related work experience (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Basic proficiency in computer use
- Travel: Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed
