Job Summary
Assess, examine, and treat patients while managing patient flow and performing diagnostic procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs. Act as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain appropriate identification during exam room interactions. Document clinical care quality measures and medical history information while adhering to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth office operations. Requires HS diploma, Medical Assistant certification within six months, and BLS certification within 90 days. Located at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- BLS through the America Red Cross
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Proficiency in information technology systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements
- Knowledge of the use and documentation requirements within established scope of practice
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting
- Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
