Job Summary
Greet patients promptly and professionally while assisting with registration, collecting medical history and documents, and obtaining electronic signatures. Prepare patients for exams by performing preliminary tests as needed and report relevant information to the provider. Perform scribe duties, review treatment procedures with patients, and assist in ordering tests or retrieving results. Collect patient payments, schedule follow-up appointments, and review discharge instructions. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards. Balance and close the daily journal when applicable. This role supports physicians in a leading orthopedic practice in Schenectady, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistance Certification or Degree in the Sciences
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong data entry skills
- CPR/BLS
