Job Summary
Medical Assistant in Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute responsible for rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with exams/procedures (including phlebotomy and EKGs), updating electronic medical records, and providing clerical support. Role includes coordinating referrals, scheduling, pre-certifications, and ensuring accurate documentation for billing. Opportunities for certification, career advancement, tuition assistance, and training. Float to multiple Banner locations as needed; day shift, Mon-Fri, in Phoenix/Scottsdale clinics. Emphasis on patient experience, service orientation, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Accredited Medical Assisting Program graduate
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
- Certification within 12 months of hire from one of: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA (or equivalent) with proof of current membership where applicable
- BLS certification required
- Strong computer skills and EMR familiarity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for certain behavioral health settings (where applicable)
- Arizona Criminal History Affidavit (where applicable)
