Job Summary
Medical Assistant – Ortho role supporting clinical and administrative tasks in a physician practice. Responsibilities include recording patient histories and vital signs, assisting with exams, injections, sutures, specimen collection, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, maintaining sterile exam areas, providing patient education, and responding to urgent/emergency situations. Ideal candidates have CMA certification or an MA program certificate/AA degree, or non-certified MA with HS diploma and relevant training/experience; must have current BLS/CPR. Proficiency with EHR, strong communication and organization skills, multitasking, compassion, attention to detail, and commitment to quality care. Required Qualifications
- For Certified Medical Assistants (CMA): Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate or AA Degree from a Medical Assistant program required
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (e.g., NCCT or equivalent)
- Experience: Preferred prior MA experience in a clinical setting
- Licensure: Current BLS (CPR) required
- For Non-Certified Medical Assistants: Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: At least 6 months in a patient care role or completion of formal training (e.g., CNA, EMT, GNA, or MA program)
- Licensure: Current BLS (CPR) required
