Job Summary
The Medical Assistant II (MA II) assists in providing patient care under the delegation of a licensed practitioner and performs duties aligned with the Associate Medical Assistant role. The position requires hands-on clinical skills including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration, with responsibilities guided by established policies and procedures. Ideal candidates will have completed approved coursework/training in medical assisting or an apprenticeship, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and at least 6 months of healthcare and MA experience. The role is based in Lubbock, TX, on-site, and offers full-time daytime hours within Covenant Medical Group under Providence. Preferred on-hire certification includes National Medical Assistant Certification. Required Qualifications
- Coursework/Training and Graduate of a school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
- Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
- Coursework/Training and Has completed 2 years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
- Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 6 months of Healthcare experience.
- 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
