Job Summary
Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse needed for a Family Practice Clinic (part-time, 20 hours/week). Role focuses on supporting the care team with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and care delivery. Key duties include welcoming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for exams, assisting during procedures, administering medications and vaccines as directed, performing lab-related tasks and point-of-care testing, documenting care in the electronic health record, and collaborating with physicians and nursing teammates to provide high-quality, coordinated care. Specific licensure requirements: MA requires GED or HS equivalency Diploma with eligible certification pathways; LPN requires an active LPN license in the practicing state and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days unless not required by leadership. BLS is also required for MA. Work location is Aurora Family Medicine in Waukesha, WI; compensation ranges provided based on role and experience, with MA range $21.85-$32.80/hour and LPN range $24.10-$36.15/hour; pay is hourly and converted to annualized salary where applicable. Required Qualifications
- MA: GED or HS Equivalency Diploma; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days (if required)
- LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse license in practice state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days (if required)
- MA or LPN: completion of accredited program (Medical Assistant or Practical Nursing) or 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience for MA track
- Hours: Part-time, 20 hours/week, Mon-Fri 8:00-5:30 with rotating Saturdays
- Ability to lift 35 pounds; physical requirements and safety training may be required
- Ambulatory care team support: vital signs, medical histories, exam prep, procedure assistance, meds/vaccines, lab tasks, EHR documentation
- Must adhere to regulations and maintain patient safety and confidentiality
