Job Summary
Welcome patients, record vital signs and medical histories, and assist providers during exams and procedures. Administer medications and vaccines, collect lab specimens, and document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians and teammates to deliver coordinated ambulatory care while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety regulations. Work Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 6:00pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. This role supports the family medicine team at Aurora Medical Group in Slinger, WI, within a collaborative environment focused on improving community health outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant
- 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
- Must be able to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
- Must be able to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required
