Job Summary
Medical Assistant role at Piedmont Urgent Care delivering hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and treatments, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in the EMR, collecting specimens, administering medications and injections, starting IVs, placing catheters, performing splinting, and conducting basic clinical and laboratory procedures. Supports Occupational Medicine services (drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, pulmonary function testing) while ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance. Performs administrative tasks and maintains quality assurance programs (CLIA waived labs, patient result trackers). Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, 1+ year healthcare experience (urgent care/ER a plus), proficiency in venipuncture and injections, EMR experience (EPIC preferred), and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus)
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Team-oriented, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
