Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant - Urology

Outpatient Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for Urology at Geisinger Healthplex CenterPoint. Responsibilities include obtaining and documenting patient visit information (reason for visit, weight, vital signs, screening data, medication review), preparing examination and treatment rooms, assisting providers during visits and minor procedures, administering medications within competency, performing phlebotomy and laboratory tasks, preparing and processing specimens, completing tests and treatments per order, and coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations. Also handles receptionist/clerical duties, uses the EMR and scheduling system, ensures patient safety and privacy, reinforces patient education, maintains inventory and infection prevention protocols, and participates in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
