Job Summary
Administer health questionnaires, take patient histories and vital signs, and prepare patients for exams and treatments while maintaining strict confidentiality. Accompany clinicians in exam rooms as a chaperone for intimate exams, update patient information in Epic, and manage in-basket messages. Prepare exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, assist with scheduling tests and treatments, and connect language interpretation services when needed. Adhere to infection control guidelines, maintain competency in clinical equipment use, and explore community resources to meet patient needs. Full-time position in Bridgeport, CT; bilingual Spanish-English or English/Creole helpful; CPR certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Experience in a clinical setting
- Bilingual: Spanish-English or English/Creole
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively interpret medical terminology
- Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or in process of acquiring Certification
- CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or in process of acquiring Certification, a plus
