Job Summary

Prepare exam rooms between patients, stock supplies, and set up procedure trays. Escort patients to exams, check vital signs, interview for needs, and record visit details, medications, and temperatures. Assist with procedures like suture removal and wart excision, package specimens for labs, and submit results to physicians. Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures, manage referrals to other providers, and contact hospitals or pharmacies for lab and x-ray results. Pre-certify medications and referrals with insurance professionals, track all orders, and perform manual drug inventory. Disinfect exam rooms, lab areas, and reception daily. Communicate with physicians and office managers on practice improvement issues while maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Minimum of one year of previous experience in dermatology medical office
  • Experience utilizing Modernizing Medicine / EMA Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
