Job Summary
Remain with the physician in the exam room during consultations, status checks, and emergency visits. Assist with patient initial interactions, perform blood draws, and chart vital signs, weights, and medication documentation. Schedule and follow up on diagnostic studies, acquire results, and notify the physician of interim reports. Obtain signed permission slips for radioactive prostate seed implants and assist with catheterization. Verify allergy stickers, document patient problems, and maintain HIPAA compliance while communicating with front desk and nursing staff. Attend annual OSHA and biomedical update meetings.

- ability to obtain physicians signature on test result
- ability to acquire results and notify Physician of results
- ability to draw blood for various lab tests
- ability to follow up on results of lab
- ability to attend annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings
- ability to apply in the clinical setting of the updates
- ability to practice safety precautions
- ability to wear personal protective equipment
- ability to document medications the patients are currently taking
- ability to document any new medications prescribed by our physicians
- ability to document the name of the medication, dose and amount prescribed, physician prescribing, instructions, date and nurse's initials
- ability to document any samples given to patient
- ability to chart patient's vital signs
- ability to chart initial weight
- ability to chart all follow-up weights
- ability to obtain all signed permission slips for patients who are radioactive prostate seed implants
- ability to verify the allergy sticker is complete
- ability to assist or perform catheterization of patients
- ability to report or verify all patient problems as reported
- ability to maintain HIPAA rules and regulations
- ability to maintain open communication with front desk, Nursing staff
- ability to maintain attendance according to scheduled days and hours
- ability to adhere to uniform and appearance standards
- ability to attend mandatory company training sessions
- ability to demonstrate courtesy and respect
