Job Summary
Medical Assistant - Oncology in an ambulatory clinic setting (McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden, UT). Provide patient care under clinician supervision, assist the provider with visits, gather relevant information, and communicate with patients via telephone and in-person interactions. Work 24 hours/week on a part-time schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 8:00am–5:00pm). Emphasis on teamwork across cross-functional staff, attention to detail, and protecting patient privacy. Qualifications include completion of a Medical Assistant program or MA work experience, or an active RN/LPN license in Utah, current BLS, and computer/data-entry skills. Preferred experience in outpatient clinics and EMR familiarity. Compensation ranges from $19.87 to $28.31 hourly, with benefits and opportunities for education assistance; location: Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden, UT.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
