Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Omni Family Health provides clinical and clerical support to a network of health centers delivering primary care in ambulatory settings. Under supervision of the Health Center Nurse(s), the MA assists with patient preparation, exams, and procedures; records medical history and vital signs; assists with exams and procedures; completes lab orders and referrals; administers medications/injections; collects lab samples and conducts CLIA-waived testing; schedules follow-ups; maintains exam-room readiness and inventory; ensures patient information confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; participates in QA/QI activities and IT/EHR usage (NextGen, PMS, QSI); participates in PCMH initiatives and audits; travels to Omni clinic locations as needed; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; strong communication, time-management, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills; adheres to Omni’s mission and standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Venipuncture certification
- CPR certification
- BLS certification
- Completion of training for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California
- Under a licensed physician, podiatrist, RN, LVN, PA or qualified MA
- In a postsecondary program or approved by relevant Department/Board
