Job Summary
Maintain a safe patient environment while measuring vital signs, interviewing patients, and recording histories. Perform routine screening tests including EKGs, collect and process lab specimens with phlebotomy, and administer medications with provider orders. Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, dressing changes, and sutures removal. Document findings, services, and education accurately; clean rooms after exams and help maintain clinic flow. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and operate standard office equipment. Stock supplies and maintain equipment. Monitor follow-up of tests and notify providers. Perform CPR when needed and maintain required certifications. Assist with orientation of Medical Assistant Externs. Travel to other health center locations as directed for continuity of operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Equivalent to High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from an education program for the medical assistant
- CPR certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification)
- Current TB Education certification
- Must sit together with Clinical Team
