Job Summary
Conduct patient care assistance, obtain and record vital signs, and perform invasive procedures such as venipunctures and IV therapy. Maintain accurate patient documentation in the Electronic Health Record and communicate care plans with providers. Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, monitor medical conditions, and ensure examination rooms are clean and stocked with supplies. Field patient phone calls professionally and complete shift opening and closing procedures while adhering to HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Requires a Medical Assistant certification or relevant license, Basic Life Support, and minimum two years of patient care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties
- Ability to perform venipunctures, administer injections, and initiate intravenous therapy
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations
- One of the following is required prior to starting: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center of Competency Testing, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association, Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by the American Medical Certification Association, Nationally Regi...
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
