Job Summary
Medical Assistant (OB/GYN) provides direct patient care under nursing leadership in a multi-location central Texas clinic. Responsibilities include preparing patients and rooms, taking and documenting vital signs, administering medications under physician direction, performing diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, vision screenings), processing refill requests using ARC protocols, triage callbacks, reviewing results and communicating with patients, maintaining equipment and supplies, complying with OSHA/HIPAA and clinic policies, and supporting providers during procedures. Requires strong organization, communication, teamwork, and patient education skills; familiarity with EPIC EMR and MyChart is a plus. Schedule typically Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM with on-site (Cedar Park, TX) work location; on-site remote option indicated as the work arrangement. Education and credentials emphasize a high school diploma or equivalent and Medical Assistant training or related direct-patient-care experience; BLS CPR certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant experience, or CNA/EMT/PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections
- Graduate of a medical assistant program
- Preferred: Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant
- Certificate/License: Medical Assistant certification preferred. Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card
