Job Summary

Conduct routine administrative and clinical tasks to support urological service delivery and keep medical offices running smoothly. Greet and prepare patients, measure vital signs, record interviews and histories, and perform phlebotomy, basic lab tests, and EKGs after training. Assist physicians with exams, handle room turnover, manage patient logs for lab requests and CT scans, and prepare accurate documentation. Open and close the office daily, coordinate appointments with physicians and nursing staff, and ensure HIPAA compliance and adherence to OSHA, CMS, and fraud prevention guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (based on State regulation requirements)
  • 6 months experience working within a physician's office
  • Urology experience
  • Ability to perform well in stressful situations
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Project Management
  • Vendor relations (for those MA's that are required to order office and clinical supplies)
  • Database management
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
  • Regularly adheres and supports compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned including, but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA & CMS guidelines for Parts C & D on General Compliance and Fraud, Waste & Abuse
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures
  • maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department
  • the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training
  • Meets established attendance criteria and starts work promptly
  • Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts

Desired Qualifications
