Job Summary
Greets patients from the waiting room, performs intake activities, documents vital signs, medications, and allergies, and verifies electronic medical records. Transcribes demographic and medical history, updates patient charts, and prepares documentation for providers. Conducts in-office testing, coordinates ancillary services, collects and processes specimens, and logs results. Assures examination areas are clean and stocked, assists patients with gowning and supplies, and maintains inventory of medical equipment and supplies. Performs pathology audits, coaches colleagues on procedures, and demonstrates sterile technique for surgical procedures under RN direction.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- 1 year MA/Secy experience
- new graduate of Medical Assistant program
- Nursing Assistant training program
- EMT certification
- 3 years job related experience in a medical office
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs
- Data entry required
Desired Qualifications
- CPR certification preferred
- Bi-lingual preferred
