Job Summary
Conduct ancillary tasks including weight, height, blood pressure, urinalysis, and glucometer readings while documenting results in the patient's EHR chart. Screen patients for chief complaints, medical history, and allergies; set up examination rooms, prepare equipment, and assist providers during treatments and minor procedures. Perform in-house laboratory testing per CLIA standards, administer age-appropriate vaccinations, and coordinate follow-up appointments for abnormal lab results. Maintain sterile techniques, sterilize instruments, manage inventory, and respond to life-saving situations based on clinical protocols. Ensure infection control policies are followed and complete required staff competencies through knowledge reviews and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum required education per state of Indiana/HRSA
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Advanced Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse licensing
- Phlebotomy
- Ability to analyze situations and solve problems at strategic and tactical levels
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
- Practiced at organization and planning

Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience working within a healthcare setting.
