Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides direct patient care in a team-based primary care setting for BILH Primary Care-Mt. Auburn. Responsibilities include supporting patient flow during visits, updating medication and allergy lists, reviewing screening questions (PHQ-9), and liaising between patients and staff. Performs medical assisting duties (vital signs, height/weight, EKGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations for certified MAs) and supports population health through health coaching and outreach. Maintains medical equipment/supplies, uses the EHR to queue prescriptions and enter orders, and schedules diagnostic tests while verifying insurance and referrals. Requires high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in health sciences preferred; MA certification/registration or related certificates preferred; 0-1 years of related experience; strong computer skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment. Locations include Beth Israel Lahey Health Primary Care (Watertown) and Mount Auburn Hospital (Cambridge), MA, USA; roles are in-person with standard healthcare clinic duties and compliance with safety and PHI standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred
- License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred., or Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred., or Certificate 1 EMT Basic License preferred., or Certificate 2 Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- Demonstrated Medical Assistant (MA) competencies within one year of hire.
