Job Summary
Medical Assistant Neurosurgery position at Intermountain Health in Murray, UT. Supports clinicians in an ambulatory Neurosurgery Clinic by providing patient care, gathering information relevant to visits, and communicating with patients via telephone and in-person interactions. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, privacy of PHI, and high patient satisfaction. 40 hours/week, full-time, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm schedule. Minimum qualifications include MA program completion or equivalent MA experience or RN/LPN license (Utah), BLS certification prior to start date, and basic computer/data-entry skills. Preferred qualifications include outpatient clinic experience and national MA certification (RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMA); EMR proficiency; strong interpersonal and communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
- Preferred Qualifications Experience in an outpatient clinic; computer literacy in EMR; current national MA certification (RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMA) from AMT/AAMA
