Job Summary
Collect subjective and objective health status data from patients or caregivers and communicate this information to health care providers. Participate in patient care by following through on treatment plans under provider direction, performing point-of-care testing, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations. Deliver written care instructions to patients or caregivers and support preventative care, health maintenance, and follow-up across the lifespan. Perform a variety of duties under direct supervision of a licensed medical professional. Requires BLS certification within six months of employment and state-specific registration where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- Re-certification as required
- North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing
- Must be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if they do not possess MAIII registration at time of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
