Job Summary
Medical Assistant-Nephrology, full-time days (40 hours/week) at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest campus. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. The Medical Assistant supports physicians and nurses, facilitates efficient patient flow, and assists with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, setup of procedure trays, CLIA-waived testing). Duties include preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and communicating with the care team to promote patient satisfaction. Requires high school diploma or GED, current MA certification (or eligibility within six months) from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NAHP, BLS/CPR, and 0–2 years of relevant experience; preferred credentials include completion of an accredited MA program and EMR experience. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current certification in one of the following: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA), NRCMA (NAHP) with documentation or eligibility within six months
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
- 0-2 years of experience in a relevant role
- Strong computer skills
- Within first six months, complete one of the following certifications: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA
