Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting providing direct patient care and administrative support under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with vital signs, patient histories, and clinical procedures; administering medications as ordered; performing venipuncture, EKGs, IV starts (as allowed under supervision), and other diagnostic procedures; accurate documentation in the EHR; patient education and discharge instructions; coordinating referrals and follow-up care; monitoring for clinical changes and reporting to the provider; maintaining equipment and exam room readiness; upholding infection control standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, HIPAA); supporting care coordination, quality improvement, and patient-centered care; strong communication with patients, staff, and external contacts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Certification through AAMA, AMT, or NCCT preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Experience in outpatient/ambulatory care setting preferred
- Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
