Job Summary
Measure patient vitals, screen for pain and distress, and document clinical depression scores during each visit. Complete the rooming process, escort patients to exam rooms, and verify medication lists, allergies, and health histories for EMR entry. Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, manage prescription refill requests, and call patients with lab results and verbatim instructions. Assist with telephone triage, provider procedures, and medication administration under supervision. Collect laboratory specimens, stock clinical areas, and verify appointment scheduling with front office staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program
- 6-months recent Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting
- Current TO approved BLS provider card
- Knowledge of organization policies, procedures systems
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements for safe handling of blood and body fluids
- Skill in computer applications
- Skill in venipuncture
- Ability to work effectively with staff, and other internal and external sponsor and agencies
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA)
