Job Summary
Medical Assistant coordinates clinical care under physician direction, prepares exam rooms, performs vital signs and urine collection with urinalysis as indicated, assists with triage of calls and documentation in the EHR, supports infection control and biomedical waste procedures, and maintains logs per OSHA/MOSHA. The role involves assisting physicians and the clinical supervisor, welcoming patients, and traveling to other sites within a reasonable geographic region. Requires High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1 year of clinic experience; proficiency in triage, phlebotomy, injections, vitals, and specimen processing; knowledge of ICD/CPT codes and medical terminology; strong communication skills and HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant program or 1 year Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic
- Proficiency in triaging patients, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vitals, and processing specimens
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD, and CPT Codes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written
- HIPAA compliance
- Travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region
