Job Summary
Process blood draws, collect specimens for laboratory testing, and prepare examination rooms and equipment. Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history, then accurately record data in medical records. Assist providers and nurses during all aspects of exams, treatments, and procedures. Schedule appointments, verify insurance and demographic information, complete referrals and discharges, and participate in health and wellness activities. Full-time onsite role in the Bronx, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Compensation is $23.00/hour plus a $1,500 annual differential. Bilingual English/Spanish and school-based experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- High School Diploma
- GED
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a health care or school based setting
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of taking vital signs
- Knowledge of phlebotomy
- Knowledge of medical administration tasks
