Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care in a medical office setting, including taking patient history and vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, handling referrals and scheduling tests, assisting with laboratory procedures (CLIA-waived), maintaining HIPAA compliance, processing billing/insurance information, performing receptionist duties, and coordinating communications with patients and staff. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency with EMR systems, strong organizational and customer service skills, and ability to manage multiple duties in a clinical office environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within 6 months of employment
