Job Summary
Conduct vital sign checks, perform screenings, and update patient histories while administering injections and immunizations. Perform EKGs, point-of-care lab testing, and assist with medical procedures in a primary care pod. Manage room stocking, inventory, and patient outreach while collaborating on care plans. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and department-wide initiatives. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. Work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively across diverse backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- At least one (1) year of on-the-job experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
- Proficiency in EMR systems and healthcare software (EPIC)
- Strong patient service and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team/pod environment
- Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Must be CPR certified or attend a SCIHP CPR training to become certified
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to support the weight of others who require assistance in standing, bending, stepping, walking, and/or sitting
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation
- Must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American community
- Must demonstrate a deep understanding and respect for the diverse cultural heritage, traditions, and historical context of the Native American community
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant certification (CMA, CCMA)
