Job Summary
Medical Assistant supports family practice/primary care by assisting physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners; performs chart prep, verifies patient information, conducts preliminary physicals (blood pressure, weight, temperature), documents in EMR, administers immunizations with two-person verification, conducts screenings (Tobacco, SHA, TB, PHQ2) and other point-of-care testing as directed, provides patient education, reconciles medications, assists with referrals, and maintains clinical inventory and clean exam rooms; requires High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA training program, and at least 1 year of experience; BLS certification and MA certification/registration preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program recognized by the state of California
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Certification/Registered Medical Assistant preferred
