Job Summary
Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, allergies, and chief complaints to document in patient records. Assist with patient flow, prepare for visits, and support physicians in conducting exams and office procedures under supervision. Perform applicable medical procedures including collecting specimens, administering injections, and venipuncture as allowed by state regulations. Communicate instructions to patients, assist with scheduling tests and follow-ups, and triage messages from patients and referring providers. Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms, ensure instruments are sterilized, and manage patient files and records.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Must have the ability to follow universal precautions
- Must have the ability to follow OSHA standards
- Must have the ability to follow HIPAA regulations
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- CPR/BLS certification
- 1+ years in an office-based setting
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Superior customer service skills
- High level of professionalism
